Ovarian cyst excision, ovarian resection and removal of ovary(s) and fallopian tube(s) performs by laparoscopy and in some cases (large cyst, cancer) through abdominal wall incision. The surgical procedures takes 30-60 minutes and the hospital stay is one day after laparoscopic surgery and one to three days after open surgery.

Surgery for pelvic organ prolapse

Surgerical treatment for pelvic organ prolapse performs vaginaly or in some cases laparoscopically. The first step is to identify where is ”defect” that should be corrected. Repair of anterior and posterior vaginal wall, fixation of vaginal vault and uterus, and repair using synthetic mesh are most performed surgical interventions. Sometimes, vaginal removal of uterus must be done. The surgery takes 30-90 minutes, depending on procedure. Treatment may be done in local or general anesthesia. Patient leaves the hospital the day after the surgery.
