Aerobic vaginitis is an infection of the vagina that occurs when the normal vaginal flora is disturbed and uncontrolled growth of aerobic bacteria occurs, mostly escherichia colli and beta hemolytic streptococcus.

What are the symptoms of aerobic vaginitis?

Symptoms of aerobic vaginitis are as follows:

  • increased secretion of yellow color;
  • itching;
  • burning sensation.

How is it diagnosed?

Aerobic vaginitis is diagnosed by clinical examination, direct microscopy and microbiological analysis.

How is aerobic vaginitis treated?

Aerobic vaginitis is treated with antibiotics.

Is aerobic vaginitis a sexually transmitted disease?

Aerobic or desquamative vaginitis is not a sexually transmitted disease.

Cytolytic vaginitis

Cytolytic vaginitis occurs when there is an imbalance between bacteria that normally live in the vagina with an overgrowth of lactobacilli and high levels of estrogen. It occurs more often in younger and pregnant women.

What are the symptoms of cytolytic vaginitis?

The symptoms of cytolytic vaginitis are similar to candida infection:

  • unpleasantness;
  • itching;
  • burning sensation;
  • increased vaginal secretion

How is it diagnosed?

Cytolytic vaginitis is diagnosed as follows:

  • by direct examination with a microscope;
  • low pH 3.8-4.5

How is cytolytic vaginitis treated?

Cytolytic vaginitis is treated with drugs and solutions that increase the pH in the vagina.

Is cytolytic vaginitis sexually transmitted?

Cytolytic vaginitis is not a sexually transmitted infection.
